RAMOSE 2 YEARS JOURNEY-THE STORY OF "SERVICE"

“Everybody can be great...because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.”
― Martin Luther King Jr.

A look back and everything feels like a story. Yes, a story. The one which we always wanted to hear and write, the one which we dreamt off,the one which we loved to be part of,the STORY OF SERVICE.
We cannot deny that this story involved lot of question marks in the beginning, yes it also involved some full stops at the center but today here we are seeing the exclamations and the happy good smilie :) Quite a punctual story, isn't. We after 730 days of hard work , sincerity, humility, devotion and love present you our story-the RAMOSE story-THE STORY OF SERVICE.

Things around me is changing so quickly just like I had my new hair saloon,a new laptop,a new subject to study..such a new world daily. I always search for the constant factors of my life and I find very few. Things I loved yesterday has been a history now and nobody speaks about it. But one constant thing in each of our lives is 'service'. Yes service is the companion we all have found which has lasted for two years now and many more to come. Service has been the hero of this story and why not we be the characters to serve.

The strength
The intention was not just to serve but was to inspire. We wanted every individual to do his bit to society.
So then came the concept of branching..and the came the name RAMOSE.
We have 4 branches(service clubs under RAMOSE)
1.YODHA
2.RAMOSE-JIT
3.RAMOSE-YDIT
4.RAMOSE-Chikamagalur
This strengthen our community. We have volunteers flowing from different colleges and from different courses.

OUR WAY
We are trying hard to give a new look to service activities. We are passionately spreading the message of service.Every service program is promoted well in online platforms so that people can easily access us.I feel no harm in using the word 'promoted'.We have blogs written explaining the impact and concept of every activity,we have our facebook page constantly being updated through inspirational quotes and our service ventures. We recently launched our website www.ramose.org making it more easier for students to access us. We also reach out to people and volunteers through text messages and whatsap. So we better call it this way,the new era of service. Our way,THE RAMOSE WA

APPRECIATIONS(The BATMAN of the town)
We never expected back from this story. We wanted to untie the knots of helplessness and wanted to prove them wrong who says this nation cannot be changed. Every volunteer is appreciated for his service and is considered as a LEADER.
We always wanted to be the The BATMAN of the town who serves the city in dark and do not work for appreciations.Yes this is a story of superhero. To add feathers to our cap,we have few trophies in cabin like the recently won "YUVA CHETHANA AWARD" which encourages us to do more service programs.
We will always be thankful to YOUTH FOR SEVA for recognizing our efforts and we promise to deliver.

THANKS GIVING
We thank our parents for their support and encouragement. They have helped us in our hard times, they have trusted us when we said"papa,I will score well, allow me to go out this sunday to serve",they have cherished every moment which we did, they have been the adviser and a mere a teacher.
We thank ALMIGHTY for being kind on us,without some divine support it was impossible to sustain for 2 years.
We thank all NGOs and other organizations for supporting us and being a part of our ventures.
We do not have any sponsors, yet we are happy enough to thank those donations from few of our relatives appreciating our work.
We also thank all the members and volunteers for their dedication and passion towards service. You have been the real heroes and am sure this energy will  last forever.
And lastly we thank service for giving us back so much happiness and satisfaction. The blossoming kids, the ever smiling students, the happy workers..You have made Ramose strong. You have accepted our service and we always will be in gratitude.Thank you and we promise to continue.

THE WARRIOR RISING
Things said and done, now time to do more.We have roared through the pains and gains,we have fought the odds within us and "compromises" are unheard off.We see ourselves as warriors of change and why not we bring out the warrior in each one of you.
This was our service story and where is yours?
Yes this day is an initiative day..Stay strong and start things.Until you start, things wont happen. This is not a story where the things are sorted rather you have to get it sorted. What you do may be small but what you gain is more.Let us not compromise, let us not accept the bad roads, the woman exploitation, the corruption and many more problems, let us always fight for more.We always want more, more and more,so we

AYURVEDA HEALTH CAMP

RAMOSE FREE HEALTH CAMP
HEBBAGODI, BANGALORE

All set for another day of service, another Sunday wisely utilized. Ramose got the opportunity to take part in free ayurveda health camp. Ramose joined hands with Dr. Sandhya, willing to serve and help the needy by conducting a health camp. 300 patients were treated and free medicines were distributed to the residents of Hebbagodi.
Our main task was to help in handling the huge stock of medicines. We took part in arranging and listing all the medicines beforehand. All the medicines were packed in boxes in a proper order and count was taken of each of them. There were over 5000 of them. They had to be transported from the clinic at BTM Layout to Hebbagodi village. The venue for the event was Hebbagodi government school. Timings 10 am to 4 pm. Pamphlets were printed and had to be distributed throughout the village. All the preparations done, we were roaring to go.
February 9 2014 arrived. First task, transportation of medicine. 20 members team with two of them practicing medicine were all set to leave.  We left by 8 am in the morning. Collected the medicines at BTM Layout. We reached Hebbagodi government school by 9 30 am. A room was given to us. We cleaned it and decorated it. A table for the doctor and chairs for the patients were arranged. People started to line up. The two junior doctors were given the task of checking blood pressure and investigate the history of the ailments.
The second task: Distribution of medicine as per Doctor’s prescription. As the people were treated, we had to distribute the medicines according to the prescription. This was exciting as even we were new to these medicines. We ramosis (Latin for branched) ourselves for this task. Some handled medicines, some kept count of medicines and some made sure proper medicine was given. This process carried on the whole day. The pamphlets were distributed to all over the village in a span of two hours.
People started pouring in, it was nonstop work from 10 30 am to 2 45 pm. Medicines were given to the people at free of cost and we kept the good work going. Two students studying medicine also had a good time as they were exposed to various types of cases. A quick lunch break was announced and we were back within 10 minutes. The treatment resumed again at 3 and the last patient treated was at 5 25 pm. People from all age groups came in and all were pleased with the treatment they received. We too learnt a lot from the doctor in charge. The commitment to work, keeping up with the enthusiasm the whole day and extending the work time to ensure all were treated was truly inspiring. The day ended with a smile as over 300 villagers were ensured of good “HEALTH”.
