DRESSING THE DIVINE

RAMOSE “DRESSING THE DIVINE”
“Dressing the Divine” is an event to congratulate, thank, honor and award the efforts of BBMP street workers.
“No work is insignificant, all labor that uplifts humanity has dignity and importance and should be undertaken with painstaking excellence”
If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as a Michelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, ‘Here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well.”
-          Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Problems faced by Pourakarmikas

The BBMP workers are not employed permanently by the BBMP. They are hired  through contractors who treat them badly. They do not enjoy any benefits from the government. Their wages are unscientific and are not paid regularly by the pay date. Small agitation turned the famed “Garden city” to “Garbage City”. Working in unhygienic conditions, working overtime due to shortage of workers, improper co-ordination between governments and contractors have all made life tough for the pourakarmikas.

RAMOSE INITIATIVE
In an attempt to make the pourakarmikas feel better, the concept of “DRESSING THE DIVINE” was visualized. It consists of the following activities.
1.      The event takes place in a public arena, mostly parks.
2.      The pourakarmikas are the chief guests.
3.      A talk to express our thoughts about their efforts, sacrifices and their importance.
4.      Award them with “usable” clothes and gifts

The event takes place round the year in various wards.

HELP TO COOK (HTC) - 1

"YOU HAVE TWO HANDS. ONE TO HELP YOURSELF,
                        THE SECOND TO HELP OTHERS"

Redistribution is one of the wisest ways of service. The balance of rich and poor, the balance of strength and weak, the balance of defeat and glory, life is just about balancing.
The way you do your service activities is more important than how much you do.

RAMOSE took a step ahead and started collecting cooking accessories.Books were the only love till then, but service hand extended with cookery items.
This paved way for launching the initiative "HELP TO COOK".

Every usable cooking accessory(includes spoons, tumblers, vessels and many more)were collected from different homes.

We piled up around 240 kitchen items and sorted them properly.

We were obliged to distribute these accessories to a home of hopes, ADWAYA. An ashram located in Shanthinagar. Kids there welcomed us with great love and affection. Finally we gave those needy kitchen accessories to the Ashram. We did have lunch with the kids and played with them for sometime and promised to come back. That was a day of huge satisfaction for RAMOSE.

We Cherished each and every moment there and were happy to see cute little smiles on their faces and RAMOSE promises to bring out more smiles and finally,

Give your hands to SERVE and your Hearts to LOVE!!

Have you seen somebody roaring and smiling?Lets give it a thought.ROAR FOR MORE with smiles.
